Mary Pattillo, PhD--Harold Washington Professor, Professor of Sociology & African American Studies Northwestern University

Pattillo's areas of interest include race and ethnicity (specially the Black middle class), urban sociology, and qualitative methods.  She uses the city of Chicago as her laboratoy and strives to be an expert in Chicago history, politics, and social life.
