The shift towards value-based payments in healthcare and a growing awareness of the social determinants of health and health equity are creating new opportunities for public health leaders and innovators to address society's most pressing health problems.  Join the Center for Health Equity (CHE) and the School of Medicine at this lecture to explore challenges and novel approaches to moving upstream in America.  Panelists include:

  • Rishi Manchanda, MD, MPH, Founder of HealthBegins
  • Rod Harris, DrPH, Deputy Director for the Allegheny County Health Department overseeing 11 preventive health programs including maternal and child health interventions, infectioius diseases, and chronic disease prevention
  • Lou Ann Jeremko, MPH, Executive Director of the Consumer Health Coalition & former statewide director of the CDC's National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program
  • Andrea Fox, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and the Chief Medical Officer at the Squirrel Hill Health Center
