Congratulations to John Cordier for receiving a scholarship of $2000.00 from the Bernard D. Goldstein Student Award in Environmental Health Disparities and Public Health Practice! His project "The Beginnings of Orenda Health: Improving Health Equity by Empowering Educators and Student-Led Community-Based Research" nicely illustrates a community-based participatory reseach (CBPR) approach involving students as agents of change. Students identify a health equity issue and work to develop solutions with the assistance of educators and community members. The Center for Health Equity administers this award every other year. John is in the MHA/MBA program in the Department of Health Policy and Management, Pitt Public Health.
