Biography

Dr. Larissa Myaskovsky is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Psychiatry, and Clinical & Translational Science at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine and Core Faculty in the Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion, VAPHS.  Her research interests include health services research; patient, provider, and system factors related to healthcare equity and disparities; patient decision making, health behavior, and adherence behavior; disparities in healthcare processes and outcomes in chronic disease patients and patients with disabilities; behavioral, psychosocial, and quality-of-life issues related to organ donation and transplantation. 

She is currently the PI on a NIDDK Funded Grant to test the efficacy and cost effectiveness of a comprehensive, system-level fast-tract kidney transplant evaluation for minorities in reducing time to complete transplant evaluation and increase kidney transplantation; and test the effectiveness of an educational video and booklet to encourage discussion and pursuit of living donor kidney transplantation.
